Position Title: Partner Technology Specialist 

Summary Responsibilities: Pre-sales technical responsibility for Microsoft technologies with a goal of maximizing revenue opportunities. 


Key activities will include: 

Working with large opportunity managers and partner account managers on as-needed opportunity basis 

Influencing our Partners to develop/utilize a portfolio of Microsoft-based offerings and solutions 

Support our Partner Account Managers to develop and maximize Partners capabilities and capacity to deliver solutions into the SMB space on the Microsoft platform 

Achievements and targets will be based upon the following: 

1. Revenue 

2. Specific product / solutions goals 

3. Customer and Partner Satisfaction 


Detailed responsibilities / Tasks: 

Hold initial discussions with key players in customer accounts to determine key IT-level business drivers and initiatives or compelling events. 

Identify competitors and partners within targeted accounts, including their motivations and positions 

Qualify new opportunities or existing opportunities to expand projects 

Hold discussions with the potential sponsor and other customer representatives in target accounts to qualify or confirm qualified opportunities 

Conduct targeted technical briefings and business technology reviews for qualified opportunities

Work with the Large Opportunity Managers and partners to define the value proposition of the proposed solution 

Work with LOMs and PAM to drive closure on opportunities 

Build trusted technical advisor relationship with customers and partners resulting in continuity throughout the sales cycle stages 

Establish and maintain relationships with key architects, engineers, developers, and business people within the partners IT organization. 

Continuously follow-up on all customer questions, issues, and concerns 

Meet with partners to track current deployment projects and document completed implementations 


Requirements: 

IT Degree/ Masters from a recognized university/institution 

At least 8-10 years of strong pre-sales experience in IT industry 


Pre-requisites - 

Knowledge of the following Microsoft technology 

1. Active Directory 

2. Exchange Server 

3. Office System 

4. MOSS 

5. Security and Management 

Knowledge of other MS products will be an added advantage 

Experience in messaging & collaboration solutions with a strong background in infrastructure architecture solutions 

Competitive selling skills 

Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams & execute on deliverables 

Strong team player who can prioritize high impact activities & manage resources through influence
